Mechanical/Plumbing Technician - Waterford Institute of Technology

This post is based in Waterford Institute of Technology which now caters for approximately 8,000 full-time and part-time students and operates on four campuses. The staff complement is approximately 800 including Academic, Administration and Support Staff. The Mechanical/Plumbing Technician will work as part of support staff in the Estates Office at the Institute.

The appointee will form part of a multi-disciplinary Estates Office team responsible for carrying out plumbing and mechanical maintenance and minor works to all buildings and campuses at WIT.

The nature of the post may change over time and the appointee may be reallocated to another post dependent on Institute requirements and subject to skill set requirements.

Principal Duties of the post include but are not limited to:
To carry out general mechanical/plumbing installation and maintenance works.
To carry out routine and preventative maintenance to mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning works.
To carry out maintenance works to gas heating plant.
To carry out maintenance works to plumbing and drainage as required including maintenance of toilets and washrooms.
To undertake commissioning of new equipment.
To carry out routine reactive and scheduled maintenance and planned maintenance of equipment/assets etc.
